The Vision

Sword Art Online, a beloved franchise with millions of fans across the globe. Many of them would try their hands at creating inspired projects replicating the game produced in that world. 2021, a simple idea of recreating the Menu system from SAO into VRChat was formed into the mind of Zerithax. There, he would be joined by BocuD, LiveDimensions, Somnus, and NinoDV creating not only ArgusVRC and the Menu system, but also envisioning Sword Art Online recreated into VRChat. Over 32+ Staff Members would gather along with 15,000 players to further pursue this dream, eventually hand crafting inhouse systems, models, improved combat and a fully explorable open world, pushing VRChat beyond its normal capabilities.

How can you save player data?

Our save system was designed with the goal of allowing players to save their progress without needing them to write down a code, do something on their phone, or be otherwise required to leave VRChat temporarily.

To achieve this, we partnered with Nestorboy (Nessie) to develop NUSaveState; A powerful tool that stores data by using VRChat avatars. To use this system, all a player needs to do is open the SAO menu, navigate to settings, and press the Log Out button. Upon loading back into the world, if they grant permission for the world to change their avatar, they will automatically be put in the world with all the same gear they had and in the same place they were standing before.
